Many were apprehensive about attending a brand new school, but others expressed an eagerness, enthusiasm, and willing- ness to make something of this large brick building. The first year was a hard one, and all was not polished and finished. We met many obstacles in our path and we solved them as best we could. It was a time for the students to get settled and situated in their routines, for the students and administration to become acquainted, and for the clubs and organizations to be established. Despite problems, Madison did sponsor several large projects, such as a Christmas Welfare drive and a profitable magazine drive. This year, 1960-61, has found Madison students full of school spirit and busy with various activities, such as sponsoring another successful magazine drive, producing two plays, being host for the Northern Vir- ginia District S.C.A. Meeting, and purchasing band uniforms with the money gained from the preceding year's magazine drive. In September, Madison will begin its third year. We, the students, look forward to all the accomplishments of the future. l MJ , A jf, J WW ,ljywgwl rv ff rt ,nfl 'V 4 Carrying traditions on, just as we do Here at
