5 U 0 Q -1 Q -1 Q Q. C Q -n Q 3' 3 June, 1968 5 Your graduating class can look back upon events in your high school career that 5 were unique and remarkable. You lived through a transit strike that tied up a city, a if black-out of the entire northeastern portion of the country, and a delay in the start of a R li school year. The difficulties you had to overcome may have been painful to you, but li they made your high school years special and memorable. E I am certain, however, that it is not for these occurrences that you will remember if your days in Madison. You may be able, in future years, to determine when something happened in relation to the date of the black-out, but your real memories will be of a different sort. They may be of a teacher who inspired you to go into a field of study, or of a lesson in which an exciting new concept became clear, or of a kind word il someone on the faculty gave you at iust the right time. Or, perhaps, they may be of Q if a good deed that you did for someone who needed help, or a moment of glory in a E class, in a game or on the stage. You may possibly think of a friendship you made 5 and kept. E ln the years to come you will be going on to higher education, to business or in- EE dustry, to marriage, to the service, to self-improvement in many ways. You will be faced il 5 with problems of many kinds. You may have to make choices affecting your personal E life, your economic status, or your emotional well-being, no one can know now iust E what form each of your decisions will have to take. We, your friends at Madison, have if confidence that you will act wisely. We have offered you our best in education, our best E in thinking, our deepest aFfection. We offer you the hope of every member of the ' faculty for success and gratification. We look forward to great achievement on your Qi part in the field you choose. 3 I, personally, congratulate you on your graduation, and wish you the very best of .E good fortune for your entire life. 'BIKES Sincerely, SAMUEL FORSHEIT Principal
