ADMINISTRATION MAX NEWFIELD Principal November I. 1954 To the Boys and Girls of the Graduating Class of Ianuary 1955: A number of writers, inciuciing Shakespeare, have com- pared the activities of life to those of a stage. Perhaps the parallel with a circus, which you have aclopted as your theme for this yearbook. is at least as close. Certainly life will bring you a rather confusing variety of experiences, some of them gay, some of them serious. Let us hope that the balance between the two types of experiences is a good one, ancl that you clo not meet an unctue number of sad situations. Nevertheless, it would be childish to expect unctiiuteci enjoyment from the future. Equipping oneself with the knowledge of sicilis necessary to earn a living and to carry on normal family life is the goal toward which ati of your schooling and all of your development have contributed. As true Madisonians, you will undoubtedly fulfill the high hopes that we of the faculty have for you. Sincerely yours, MAX NEWFIELD Principal MISS ZEHNER MR. BROOKS Dean of Girls Dean of Boys
