ICLASS '77 CLASS '77 CLASS '77 CLASS '77 I Changes, there have been many Throughout our high school days. They gave us a new attendance policy And final exams without any say. Parkside took a few of usg The freshmen joined on in. The homecoming game was postponed. But we pulled it all out with a win. The Faculty game was a big one, lt helped us make some dough: The students had a chance to laugh, And we dearly thank them so. Our prom was superstitiousg Friday the thirteenth, what a date! But our Night on the Town Simply turned out super great! Although I'm sure we'll remember Our days at JMB From silver to midnight blue - And Dream On, Dream until your dreams come true. It has been a good year with many memories. It was fun building the class 'float and then winning second place in the contest. Our class has a great group of young people who have a long way to go in life hnd a lot to offer while they go. There are those of us who will seek but life's best and thrive upon it, and there are those of us who will not. I hope that they are few. I wish you all the luck and goodwill there is. Anyone who quits striving for excellence should move over for those of us who will not. I would like to share with all of you something I learned early in life. All the knowl- edge in the world is only as good as the wisdom that guides it. May all the best in life be yours. Jenny Lynn O'Neil1 Junior Class President JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS: lst ROW: Sec. I enjoyed working with you throughout the year and especially during the homecoming float preparations. Our dynamite float was a result of our creativity and enthusiasm. I would like to thank the class, and especially the class officers and class council for their cooperation with our fund raising activities. I believe that the potential of our class is practically unlimited. This was shown throughout the year in our many activities. I hope we can increase this potential in our lunior and Senior years. This can only be accomplished with your support. I have enjoyed and am proud to have worked with and for each of you. We've had plans fall through and there are things that the other class did that we couldn't or didn't know we could do. But, there is something we do have and we have a lot of it and that something is school spirit. Spirit doesn't do it all, but spirit, plus the things we learn along the way: will make the class of 'SO the Greatest. It was a great opportunity to work with each other and develop our acting abilities. Our directors, Mrs. Carey and Mr. Johnson, did an outstanding job. We are proud to say that we were part of this production. It was the story of four witches and how their love for an orphan daughterfkitten helped them to overcome the power of evil that surrounded them. Halloween's atmosphere, some very good elderberry wine , a few hiccups and a hay-wire music festival made for a delightful experience . Carousel For the first time in the history of JMB, the musical presented received standing ovations at every presentation. This somewhat Steinbeck-toned play, presented March 30 and April 1, 1977, was a Rodgers and Hammerstein production that combined tragedy with comedy and the lighthearted with the solemn to create a story not easily forgotten. The story of a love that misses a happy ending by a flood of tears, CAROUSEL was the first non-comedy to ever be attempted by a Bennett production group. Mr. Clapper and Mr. Reavis pulled together a very memorable experience for actors, stage crew, orchestra and audience. Those who saw or worked on it will be hard pressed to forget the magic present when this combination of talent, music and script came together. Besides playing for the football games, the band thrilled fans at parades from Wilmington to Chincoteague. This was also the year that saw our band get new band uni- forms. The band received trophies in field competition at both Queen Anne's Competition and the Seaford Invitational Band Competition. The Concert Band received a Superior rating from each of the adjudicators at the District Band Festival, thus qualif- ying forthe Maryland State Band Fes- tival. Seniors: The future for each one of you will be a challenge. It is the unknown quantity! lt is as though you are solving the problem for the missing variable. Most of you have not made up your minds as to your future endeavors. ln order to establish direction, you need to accept responsibility and understanding right from wrong. Once you have accepted these two facts, then you will be able to seek direction. Remember, you were put on this earth to contribute. It is my sincere hope that all of you will find that point in life which will offer you success and happiness. Lfyafnf move, I i Mr .
