To the Class of 1970: You are completing your high school education and assum¬ ing the responsibilities of adulthood during an era that pre¬ sents many challenges to the individual and society. While great technological, scientific, and cultural advancements have been made, many problems remain unsolved. Poverty and un¬ employment remain in spite of our great wealth. Animosities among races still exist. Crime is increasing. Wars continue in spite of our efforts to find peaceful solutions to disagree¬ ments among nations. A segment of our population is more concerned with the rights of the individual than with the welfare of the group. In the years ahead you will have the responsibility of trying to find the answer to important problems which my genera¬ tion has failed to solve. I sincerely hope your three years at Bennett Senior have prepared you for the task. With my best wishes for your future success and happiness, I am Very truly yours, J‘ Carl ' ft . Dumire 12

Assistant Principal: MR. WILLIAM C. EVANS To the Class of 1970: May I wish for each member of the Class of 1970 success and happiness. In order to be assured of this, one’s education must include two important factors; an intellectual attitude toward life, and a philosophy of life. The proper intellectual attitude toward life implies that one must find the world and life particularly interesting by viewing them realistically, and one should understand that that which is now past was once a living present, just as the now living present is already in the course of becoming the past of another present. William C. Evans 14
