Exchanga Italiano When Maria Zarattini first arrived in the United States she had a limited knowledge of English. She met her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Strauel, and their two daughters, Sandy and Diane, and in no time at all she was a typical American teenager. She was not the foreign exchange student ... she became Maria — another Loganer. Maria was impressed by the beautiful highways and the many automobiles. She enjoyed the freedom the American youngsters have. After only three short months, Maria ' s vocabulary of American words increased. Part of her vocabulary included typical teenage jargon — expressions like tore up . . . is boss . . . is no lie. Her favorite sport is foodball. She could always be found on the sideline rooting for the Colts. Maria is Logan ' s first exchange .stu¬ dent, who along with other Colts is help¬ ing to make Logan traditions.
