CLASS POEM BY Maggie Sue Fleming - Mary White A Alfreda King Dear James High--you did your best And we shall strive to do the rest As we go on from day to day Along this trouble and toilsome way. We're striving for a high and higher goal Vv'e hope to reach what we've been told: XVQ pray that we get help in every way To help us every lonely hour and day, XVe know as we walk this road of burden and strife It is you Dear James who prepared us for life: Vkfe have learned in our school How to apply the golden rule. Our teachers have been working steady with us And we thank them for their loyalty and trust, Now our happy days have passed and we are leaving Now are the parting hours, and we are grieving. The thirty-three members that are left in the class Have studied hard and made it at last: Now. Dear James High, our journey is through, Thus ends our stav, Dear James High with you, CLASS SONG BY Cecil Montgomery - Mattie Latimer - Alfreda King Betty Mincey The bus is at the end at last: The eager pupils mounting fast: And waving hands in chorus we sing Bood-bye, Good-bye to William James. To shops and classrooms, floor and lawn, To basketball courts we played upon. To auditorium, campus and bells that ring. Good-bye, Goodbye to all these things. And fare fare you well for evermore. O blackboard at the class room door, O classroom where memories cling Good-bye, Good-bye to William James. Toot! Goes the horn and off we go The yard and building smaller grow l,ast round the busy turn we sing Good-bye, Good-bye to everything, 6
