In l956, the Rockets soared upward in high gear to their first District lll Cham- pionship, after six long years of struggling. The Rockets, powered b a swift and skilled offense, and a strong and powerful defense, soared away from all their Conference competitors and took their undefeated team to the Gettysburg College Field where they met and defeated the powerful Dover- ians by a slim margin of l - 0 on a penalty kick in the 4th quarter. On the Rockets sailed to defeat East Lebanon by another slim margin of l - 0 after four extra, exciting, five-minute quarters, in which the corner kicks were counted as goals if made by the opposing team. The Green and White team then met defeat at the hands of the overpowering and forceful Bethlehem District I champions on the District l Lancaster High School field. Houstontown - l J. B. H.
