Growing in Change The words Dear Ole Dudley High have echoed through many decades and will continue to echo for many more. But the Dudley we once knew and loved has become a new Dudley that will change even more, and will be matched only by a newer Dudley yet to come. With this change has come: A new administration --which stands boldly in a noble tradition, but --which thinks decisively, moves deliberately, and acts wisely as it rushes forward to meet the challenge of a modern world A new faculty --which, equipped with new ideas and new techniques, has converted long, drawn out traditional methods of learning to clear, concise, modern methods --which explores the resources of recent minds to provoke the new and the unthought of --which challenges these minds to experiment, to test, to know and to understand An entirely new student, a product of an entirely new age, --who holds tradition in noble regard --who respects human dignity and human differences --who, eager to learn, seeks to master the precepts and ideas of a restless and uncertain time, a time where the old has become obsolete, and the new is yet undefined We salute thee, Dear Ole Dudley, with your new image and renewed strength. May you continue to grow and move forward with confidence to prepare the new generations for the eternal pursuit of excellence. 2

D To our beloved mentor, coordinator and compiler--George W. Gant--we proudly dedicate this, our second volume of his handiwork. Versatile, affable and enthusiastic, he has the un-common touch of making fun out of work. Small wonder, then, that he executes the multiplicity of jobs needed to make a volume like this a reality, without once losing his relaxed technique. In genuine esteem and appreciation do we dedicate the 1967 Panther Year book to Mr. Indefatigable Himself--George W . Gant. E D I C A T I O N 4
