Gwenella Lamberth is outstanding for hav¬ ing maintained a B average, being elected Vice-President of the National Honor Society, Chairman of the Beautification Committee, President of her homeroom, and executive member of the Student Council. In addition to these achievements she has a warm person¬ ality and fine love of her fellow students that makes her a popular as well as brilliant stu¬ dent. Herbert Jackson is distinguished as having gained rank of AFROTC Cadet Major because of his superior qualities of intellect, character, per¬ sonality, and leadership ability. Herbert’s easy going manner has won him a firm place in the hearts of his fellow students, and marks him as a young man who is bound to succeed. Ronald Tatum’s administrative and lea¬ dership talents have underscored his poten¬ tial as an organizer and leader. He has been a member of the Patrol Force, the Octagon Club, and plans to further his education either at A T State University or Guilford College. Brice Smith’s ambition to become a lawyer and his lo¬ quacity seem to go hand in hand. In the summer of 1967 he participated in the Elks’ Oratorical Contest in Los Angeles, California, where he won a $1,000 scholarship. He was also in the World Peace Through World Law Study Speech Contest which took him to Washington, D. C. and and to the United Nations in New York City. Although Brice participates in numerous extracurricular activities, he remains an excellent student and holds the highest possi¬ ble student position—President of the Student Council. 202 -

the Class of 1968 Harold Murdock is the epitome of action. Aside from his gridiron chores, he finds time to serve as a Student Council member, and Presi¬ dent of the Dudley Jaycees. A member of the NHS and a Cadet Major in the AFJROTC, Mur¬ dock has the honor of a nomination to an appointment to the Air Force Academy. Romell Hedrick possesses an explosive combination of talent, good looks, and personality. A songbird of merit, she has sung professionally for several years and is a member of Dudley’s choir. This fall she represented Dudley as feature singer in a group appearing on the “Our Side” television show. Ambitious as well as talented, Romell seems destined for success. If you see her everytime you turn around, it’s because Christine Cockerham is one of the busiest girls on campus. Though she has had the enor¬ mous responsibility of the editorship of PANTHER 1968, Christine has managed to keep up her scholastic average, perform with the dance group, and the Majorettes. Stable Vincent’s athletic prowess has won him honors on the football field, the basketball court, and the baseball dia¬ mond for the past three years. His intellectual prowess matches his athletic skills and innumerable colleges and universities are trying to win his hand for next year. 201
