Capable Officers Head Patrols! Safety Patrol members play a vital role in day-to-day school life at Dudley. Patrol members are a select group of responsible Dudley citizens. Chosen by a faculty committee, patrol applicants are given a period of training during their junior year and begin serving during their senior year. The Safety Patrol has as its main concern the safety of all Dudley Students. Patrol members can be found at the ends of every hall during class changes. Their job is to keep students moving quickly and quietly to class. Recognizable by their white belts, they can also be found in the cafeteria during lunch time where they discourage would-be-line breakers. 142

Marshals Render Valuable Services The lights are up; the doors are open; the play, the dance, the music, the coronation—in short—the pub¬ lic program at Dudley is about to begin. If you pick your favorite, or choose them all, and head this way, you are certain to be greeted and made comfortable by a Dudley Marshal. This is our sophisticated name for the school ushers. We picked this name because we are a sophisticated group! We are in the focus of the spotlight always, and we do not mind, because we are always prepared tor close scrutiny. Our grooming is tops: clean bodies, immaculate dress, a crisp and just-right uniformity. We are never over-done, tor we maintain an easy and acceptable image. Since walking is our business, we do this with dignity, beginning with good posture, and following through with a briskness that gets our job done with dispatch. Incidentally and p erhaps accidentally (though not really so) we are a good looking group! Would you like to know our secret? Good grooming, immaculate clothing, and bodies that don’t slouch will make anyone good to behold. Come to Dudley as often as you like. We love having you, for service is our business. 144
