The purpose of the Good Etiquette Club was to improve the behavior and eti- quette among students and to instill the concepts of good behavior at certain places and events. The James A. Shanks Modern Dance Club participated in a series of school activities. Under the direction of Mrs. Constance Long, dancers performed in the Miss Shanks Pageant, the Christmas program, the homecoming pep rally, and at other Gadsden County schools. Members also performed for senior citi- zens of Gadsden County and patients at Florida State Hospital. Of the seventy- five total members only forty-five par- ticipated in each activity. Most of the dancing consisted of the female danc- ers who portrayed graceful movements to various melodies. Female dance leader was Angela Harris and mate dance leader was Ronald Long. Practice was held every club meeting and before each performance. Elected as officers were president. Shleen Humphrey: vice- president. Ronald Long: secretary. Adrian Bishop: assistant secretary. Sarah Edwards: treasurer. Robert Phil- pott: and reporters. Tangela Moore and Jeffrey McGriff. Members of the Modern Dance Club are Front Row Angela Harris Second Row Stephanie Faison. Sponsoring the FHA Club are Mrs. Anna Paul and Mrs. Irene Green. Chosen as Mr. and Miss FHA are Yul Clove and Leasdell Russ. Throughout their many activities, the Future Homemakers of America had sponsors. Mrs. Anna Paul and Mrs. Irene Green. The members of the dub participated in the senior citizens pro- ject. Senior citizens were given a Thanksgiving basket of treats. They also attended the district meeting which was held at FAMU on December 7, 1983. and helped with the par- ent award banquet, where outstanding students were recognized. They also participated in Teacher Appreciation Day and Flelp Your Neighbor Week. To raise money, they sponsored fashion shows, bake sales, car washes and a Flallo ween carnival. Officers of the club were Cynthia Davis, president; Cassan- dra Lee. president-elect; Dandra Flenry. treasurer; Twanna Parker, secretary: Joanette Barnes, reporter: and Mike Wells, parliamentarian.
