Cross Country Teams Learn To Endure « ' Ail Under the direction of Coach James Pelham, the Boys’ and girls' Cross Country teams were runners-up in the district competition held in Panama City. Cross Country.’’ Coach Pelham said, is simply long-distance running competition ideally held on golf courses or other hilly, soft terrain. It is considered to be a test of endurance and strength. The boys' team, which consisted of ten members, was required to run three miles, while the girls' team, which consisted of nine members, was required to run two miles. However, both teams ran over three miles each day in training. The teams participat- ed in eight cross country competitions. On his fifth lap around the new track is Millard Brown. Antonio Jackson strives to keep his lead ahead of Edward Moore.
