Staff Workers Ease Work Load The sound of telephones ringing and typewriters typing were heard every day in the office. Mrs. Maggie K. Brown, secretary, kept financial records and prepared payroll reports. Mrs. Mari- lyn Suber was receptionist. Mrs. Gwendolyn Gainous. guid- ance secretary, kept school records and prepared transcripts. A new member. Mrs. Faye Kyllonen. registrar, handled atten- dance and FTE reports. Mrs. Marilyn Suber prepares a purchase order. Mrs. Gwendolyn Gainous looks over school records Mrs. Maggie Brown writes a check. Mrs. Faye Kyllonen goes over attendance reports. 32

Administration Gets New Assistant Dr. James Brown replaced Mr. Wilbert Caldwell as assistant principal. Some of Dr. Brown's new tasks were assuming re- sponsibilities for assemblies, disciplinary action, inventories and the student council. Working along with Dr. Brown was Mr. Carlos Deason. principal. Curriculum, payrolls, personnel and instructional programming were only a few of Mr. Dea- son's obligations. Mr. Deason and Dr. Brown worked together on the FTE report. Student accountability was done by Mr. Deason and Dr. Brown was in charge of transportation. In order lo complete the payroll. Mr. Deason works hard. Pausing while completing a report is Dr. Brown. Help Is Given By Curriculum, Aides Scheduling students to their proper classes, giving assistance to the teachers by helping with lesson plans, and helping students were some of the responsibilities of curriculum assis- tant. Miss Bettye Ponder. The major job of the Curriculum Department was to give aid to the students and to the teach- ers. Mrs. Judith Parramore. remedial aide, assisted teachers in classrooms and administered the state mini-tests. Miss Anna McGriff assisted teachers. Miss Betlye Ponder completes a class schedule change. Miss Anna McGriff checks remedial reports. Mrs. Judith Parramore records test scores. 33
