HHAPPENING '69 After pondering over a list of about 35 suggested themes for this '68-69 Trojan Yearbook, the journalism class at jacobs junior High, decided on Happening '69 as the theme that they thought went best with this yearbook and that they could do the most with. With suggestions such asg Year In Review , Trojan A Go! Go! , Time Was , Traveling Thru '69 , and many other very good sugges- tions, it was very hard to decide on just one. The cover of the yearbook goes with the theme because of its bouncy look that makes you want to look inside. The kelly green background with the gold '69 lettering, and beneath the cover are all the happenings at jacobs, through the year. Happening '69 sort of fits into the book too. There is always some- thing exciting happening around the campus that keeps the kids busy. The an thin s like the sports - football games on weekends, swim meets m Y 8 during the week, basketball games, baseball games and wrestling matches are only some of them. Dances every month keep kids excited. The many events and holidays are also fung and of course, just all the little things kids do around the campus like chewing gum, goofing off and all the other ' ' f 'n awhile. things they are not supposed to do, but are un once i The student body at Jacobs also gives a special thanks to the merchants Who purchased advertisements so that we could produce a large and interesting yearbook. . . . .Gearge C. PRINCIPAL I would like to congratulate the year- book staff and their sponsor, Mr. Waters for preparing this outstanding yearbook. Happening '69 indicates action and this has certainly been an action year. First our sports and activities programs have provided an opportunity for each stu-. dent to be actively engaged in some aspect of campus life, outside the usual class- room program and secondly, the student body officers have done an outstanding job Working on constitutional revision and the school to school project. The ninth grade deserves special congratulations as the first class to Work together cooperatively in planning their own year-end activities. Mr. Orville Mr. Jeremiah Mr. Marcellus R. Scott, Ir. MR. Will it be something to be remembered for many years to come? Will it be a student activity, something that ' 4 happened in the classroom or an event in which all of us at Jacobs participated.
