In a way I hate to see this hook go to press for it means that my time to leave jacksonville University and all it has meant to me grows near. Bat it is good that this layoat moves on for the '64 Riparian will he edited hy memhers of this year's staff - a staff with hard earned experience. Iacksonville University will long he rememhered for its PEOPLE, LIFE and SPIRIT have heen recorded in yoar 1963 Riparian. Look throagh it lightly today - tomorrow look for those fond memories which entwined oar lives at I U. jane I 962 was the hirth of this yearls Riparian. The sammer was spent planning layoat, copy and dead- lines. Themes were kicked aroand antil at last the theme its People, Life and Spirit was horn. The staff was large in namher and enthusiasm seemed to explain their every thoaght - then came the first deadline and an anskilled staff hegan to worry, many sammer soldiers withered in the heat of pressare from its wrath. A deadline is qaite a calprit, it waits for nothing - tests, term papers, homework, dates -all give way in order to make the deadline. If I have hart yoar feelings sammer soldier forgive me hat really there was only room for the trae hlae. The faith in the haman race is restored when Mrs. Horton grahs an innocent stadent and escorts him or her to the Pahlications Office. The stadent gives what he has and lacky escapes the wrath of hecoming a staff memher. Vivian was one of the less fortanate for she was drafted as organizations editor - a joh well done and one which woald have heen impossihle withoat her. My appreciation goes to the staff especially Marty, Mike and john for their endless efforts. Of coarse, the entire staff and Mr. Strickler deserve the fall credit for the prodaction of the 1963 Riparian. The staff has tarned oat this yearhook in half the time normally reaaired and this in itself was qaite an accomplish- ment. The 1963 RIPARIAN is in yoar hands and it helongs to yon - the anrecorded memories of its prodaction are oars - CDWV 20
