It was once said, that a picture is worth a thousand words. In many instances this is true, but never has a picture revealed the quality of good drama, the tone of an instrument on the elegance of a mellow tenor voice. The art of good drama can never be held at an instant and captured by a shutter of the lens and the flash of a bulb. The qualities one might possess in drama are of too great a vision to be caught in a moment of mechanical wisdom and held there to be labeled, good or bad pseudo critics. The true image of an actor is never seen by his audience in one specific act, neither will one act reveal the true quality of a play. Thus, the contention afforded here is that this page filled with pictures could never describe the quality performance given by those students in their adaptation of The Lark . Fine Arts In the early spring great interest was created in drama, as the Jacksonville students were priviledged to view the award winning talents of Swedish star of stage, screen and TV, Vi veca lindfors. Mrs. Lindfors was presented by the Division of Languages on the evening of March 3, in Leon Cole Auditorium. Before coming to the U.S. she was a star in her own country and received the Best Actress of the Year International Film Award, which is Europe’s equivalent of Hollywood’s Oscar. 30

The Revelers The 1964-65 Community Concert Series added memorable evenings of musical enjoyment to many students' lives, according to the directors of the Series. The Herman Clebanoff Strings performed in Leon Cole Auditorium as one of the first of this cultural series. Herman Clebanoff, better known simply as Clebanoff, has impeccable musical taste to which can be added his spirit and energy. Richard Cass, Concert Pianist, appeared in the spring while making a coost-to-coast tour. Mr. Cass made his London debut in Wjgmore Hall, and the next day the London Times reported, he is the possessor not only of a pair of most agile hands, but of a mind fully capable of directing them to musical purposes . . . He performed twice in Cornegie Hall and was chosen winner in the Viotti International Contest in Vercelli, Itoly, noting only a few of his accomplishments. Also appearing in connection with the series were The Revelers. This group entertained their audience with a style unsurpassed on the Jacksonville campus. 31
