ft 7 8.05 I 3 When Paul H. Snow died on June 19, 1957, a man of unprecedented value to Jacksonville State College was lost. A graduate of the College, Mr. Snow spent a great part of his life giving assistance and proving his loyalty to his Alma Mater. We, of Jacksonville, owe thanks to this man for more things that can be listed here. A prominent businessman in Jefferson County, Alabama, Paul Snow was one year an active president of Jacksonville's Alumni Association, and was active in the organization for many years. By all who knew him, and there were many who did, Mr. Snow was considered a benefactor of education, an outstanding citizen, and a valuable persona! friend. Though every student at Jacksonville State College may not have known him personally, and though some had perhaps not heard of him, Paul Snow is to be considered a benefactor of everyone connected with the college. He will be remembered, in the words of Dr. Houston Cole, as one of this college's very best friends. F I 420 ’SlUTf. COlttGt UBRMtv . A .- »• RAMONA WOOD libpattt i n ut

Dr. E. E. Nelson, a member of the science faculty, died in September after an illness of several weeks. Although he joined the faculty only a few months before his death he was a member of a family closely identified with this college. He was the only one of four brothers who did not graduate here. Dr. Nelson received B.S., M.S., and D.Ed. degrees from the Alabama Polytechnic Institute, and an M.A. degree from the University of Alabama. He has been in the educational field since 1933 and, before coming to Jacksonville in June 1957, was principal of the Albertville High School.
