 ?k 4frfinecfaUfa t fa FRANK McLEAN B.S., A .S., Ph.D. University of Virginia Dr. McLean, professor of English, came to Jacksonville State College in the fall of 1938; he retired at the end of school year, 1956, to return to his native Virginia. During his years in our college, faculty, staff, and students appreciated him for his friendliness, his helpfulness, his scholarship. In this page of appreciation, the MIMOSA delights to honor Dr. McLean.

Miss Maude Luttrell has been a member of the faculty since 1935. During those years she has probably endeared herself to more students, faculty members, and friends of the institution than any other person. “Miss Maude,” as she is affectionately known, has always gone above the call of duty in her consideration of others. Her timely contact with discouraged students has oftentimes resulted in the prevention of their withdrawal from college. The general consensus on the campus is that she can never be replaced.

WILSON B.A., M.A,, Washington and Lee University A.M., Columbia University Ph.D.y Harvard University Dr. Wilson came to our college in 1951, following a long period of distinguished service on the faculty of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. His four years at Jacksonville have been years in which he endeared himself to all. His knowledge of his subjects—science and mathematics—impressed all who knew him. In honoring Dr. Wilson in this year of his retirement, the MIMOSA honors itself.
