Nfl SA NEA :SEMI lt's 12:00 AM. and Showdown practice is still going on. Everyone is tired and irritable, but tomorrow is the first per- formance and they have to be ready. Finally, they can go home. Remember to be back tomorrow morning at 8 0'clock, ready to go, Mr. Hendrix shouts. Thursday, january twenty-ninth, 9 a.m .... half of the stu- dent body tries to get good seats in the auditorium . . . 9:10, Mr. Hendrix comes out and talks to the students, telling them to keep on their best behavior . . . 9:15, Showdown is on its way with the glittering letters of its theme, Sing a Song, suspended behind the band. Showdown is a talent show given by the students. It is mostly singing, but a few dance acts were thrown in. This year's sponsors were Mr. Hendrix, Mr. Allen, Mr. Clark, and Mr. 'Chick' Matthews.
