A . . 1 f D. 1 at J f x ,f - 5 , p X .Z ' r Dedication Jacksonville High School rose in the heart of Jacksonville, Texas,.in the year 1925. It is significant of the past in being the realization of a dream of its predecessors, significant of the future in reminding that the ideals taught there would not be forgotten. It truly has been a living monument. The long halls seem to come to life as they echo the voices of our mothers and- fathers as they hurried along to that dreaded English exam or, perhaps, a history final. The excitement of Fri- day's pep-rally lingers on, just as does the proudness felt by all when our team won. The bright red lockers, and the event-filled auditorium hold many memories dear to us all. But now, as time so endlessly passes, we shall leave old J. H. S., a little sad but looking forward to the visions of the future. The class of 1958-59 will return to their classes with perhaps more eager- ness than usual. ,For greeting them will be a new million dollar building which will take some pain out of leaving a summer of relaxation, swimming, and vacationing. ' 'w t J. H. S., if it is fo stay- alive and continue to be a living monument, must have a frontier. It 'cannot stand still, it must either go forward or backward. 17 or it ,to go forward there must be those willing to venture ahead. Now there is only work and waiting'for tomorrow. And so this class df old I. H. S. leaves to you, the class of 1958-59, the will to,sustain the spirit of the old J. H. S., and the constant challenge to chart the course of the ships of the future.
