This situation provided the setting for this year'S senior play Goodbye, Aly FLIHCJ. Miss Agatha Reed, the Congresswoman, returns to the Good Hope College for Girls to receive an honorary degree from President Iames Merrill. Events heeome more complicated when Life sends photog- rapher Matt Cole to cover her college week-end. Matt, who has heen in love with Agatha for six years, finds out that she had been expelled from the college for not getting hack to the dormitory till the early morn- ing hours after a date with then-Professor lim Merrill. VVhen the love that they have cherished for twenty years is found faulty, events begin to happen even more quickly. True love finally triumphs, and the result is a happy ending which any Usoftheartedn audience would enjoy. f'Characters,,' such as tipsy teachers, fluttery old maids, and outdated professors, helped to make Good- bye, My Fancy one of the best plays to he given at Il. ll. in years. Under the near-professional direction of Miss Fergene Goddin, the C2lSt gave two perform- ances which rivaled a Broadway production. I . ' . . , , . l Fly Swatters Mr. Krausliaar at the beginning of this year's season said that this year's team would be a pretty fair squad. By hard work and skill the team com- pletely fulfilled and surpassed his expectations. Al- though losing several key players last year, the team still came through in a fine way. This important spring sport has about fifty boys reporting every spring although not very many students watch the games. All teams need and appreciate student support, and baseball could use a little. To all members of the team the school would like to say, VVell done, and we hope for a better season next year. Cinder Smashers Since some boys have been working toward this season for the last four years, it was bound to be a good one. At the beginning of the season the track was in better shape than at the end of the season last year. Nlany lettermen were expected to and have come through very well. Next year also should be a good year with this year's underclassmen coming back and new additions in the way of team members. All in all, the track season ended with a very commendable record. had O 1 ',,............M...,.w...,s, O D uwstrlii an ,Q wifi . ana W 9 Q0 our 5051, '95 4-E .Cf , JL Lx. Fourteen matches were scheduled long hcforc the season started, and there was the district and mayhe the state to count on. hlr. Chapman, working on the puhlic links with experienced players and novices, put together an ex- perienced squad and set out to conquer all opposition. hlost of this team will he hack next year with an added year ol: play under their belts and should at least equal this seasons record. Racquet Squad Six returning letterinen headed this year's tennis team. VVith last seas0n's record to equal, the squad needed plenty of encouragement. Under the able direction of Coach Tom Carmody, the team had its hest season since it was organized four years ago. Composed mostly of seniors, the team played fewer matches than in any of the last three years. A new squad of underclassmen was huilt up for the next few years and gained much yaluahle experience.
