3Jn fflpmnriam Words cannot express the grief which our school and community felt when Palmer had to leave us. We realize that the loss is ours, not Palmer’s, but we feel that we have not entirely lost him either. The memory of each one of us clings to many pleasant thoughts of him, his friendly smile that almost never left his face, and the straight-for- ward manner with which he greeted everyone. His teach- ers and his classmates remember him as one who was loyal, modest, and sincere; his coach and fellow athletes remember him as one who played the game squarely from start to finish; and our heritage from him is the inspiration of his noble spirit, the influence of which will always be toward higher planes for all our school activities. We feel that Palmer knows that we remember and think of him often.
