PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE It is always a pleasure for me to write this word for our GUIDING LIGHT. Students have been faithfully pro- ducing this publication for many years, and it has proved a great source of enioyment for all who observe its pages. Those who work diligently behind the scenes making the GUIDING LIGHT a reality are due our praise and com- mendation. It reflects the year's work of Jacksonville College in the life of her student body and faculty. Both student body and faculty have every reason for being happy over the accomplishments of the past year in our school. Several thousand dollars in improvements have been made upon our property. Perhaps the greatest accomplishment was the recognition given the school by the Texas Education Agency. As a result of this recognition our people all over the State have taken a renewed in- terest in Christian Education. Jacksonville College is now in a position to render the best service in her long and eventful history to our Missionary Baptist constituency. We can now hold up our heads with pride and announce to the world that our credits are good in any school of higher learning. We here in Jacksonville College are humbly proud of our school. Students truly can now enter her friendly doors with confidence and leave with pride. I count it a distinct honor to be associated with such a noble staff of fellow workers and an outstanding student body of young men and women. Here on College Hill we are iust one big family mutually interested in extending the King- dom of God in the world. May Jacksonville College long live to be of service to the churches of Jesus Christ throughout the world. In His service, GERALD D. KELLAR
