BASKETBALL The winter sport that kept the girls busy was the old peach-basket game called basketball. Here a game gets underway with a lump ball in the center circle. With encouragement from the side lines and whistle blasts from the refe- ree several hotly contested games were played during the girls' physical education classes. -Nl? -1: w 'Q' 'U-'lifts' , ayflhu 9 ., qi 0 , 4' Li D .rd- TENNIS When school opens in the Fall, you can hear: Ready? Serve, Five love. Lorene, Jo, and Carolyn display the techniques of lawn tennis. VOLLEYBALL . A fall activity that was popular in the physical education program was vol- leyball. This sport was enioyed by both boys and girls with several closely con- tested games being played. The girls re-enact a typical scene.

Another favorite sort for all was Ping- Pong. The ping-pong room in the gym was a busy place all year. Margaret Broussard, Mary Sipes, and Martha Jones show how its done with ball and racquet. These are some of the stalwarts who dared to step on the floor for a friendly game of basketball during the physical education classes for men. It looks like it might be easy to make one from up here!
