This was the call for the Class of 196l ' s excursion around the world to find the Seniors. Our first stop was Hawaii. Guess who we saw? In the midst of a group of Hawaiian girls stood Jim Matthys. As we approach the group we noticed that they were teaching him to do the Hula with a Hula Hoop. We spent the night there and by morning we were all doing the hula. So we said a-lo-ha and with the hoops he gave us hulaed on our way. Due to bad weath- er, we landed at Rose Polly Tech. As we stepped out of the rain and wind we saw Sherry Gebert decorating lockers. She explained that she was employed at Plisky ' s Interior Locker Decorating Agency. We congratulated her and she gave us each a traveling book and on we went. Feeling hungry we guided our books down towards the Glass House. We went in and saw a lady in a rather snug, strapless, black, sequin dress. We looked closer and on her hat was a sign in big letters reading CHIEF CUSTODIAN OF THE N. D. D. J. (National Disposal of Dirty Junk). We looked closer and saw that it was Judy Hacker. After paying our bill for our frog leg dinner and having said good-bye to Judy, we hopped off. New York next stop! Hearing a faint tinkle, we stopped to investigate. As we stepped in- to the Metropolitan Opera House we heard Bob Matthys singing in a high operatic voice Mad- ame Butterfly. We looked around and found the owner who turned out to be Jane Hansford. After talking to Jane for awhile, we decided to be on our way. Bob gave us each some butter- fly wings and once again the class of 61 departed. Our next stop was the roof of Buckingham Palace and there we saw the Palace Guards. One of the guards turned out to be Paul Pearson. We asked Paul the way to Greece, but he was laughing so hard that we couldn ' t understand him so we left. We caught the nearest train and went to Greece. While traveling the train suddenly came to a stop and who should we see walking in the middle of the tracks, but a hobo. He was wearing an old shaggy coat and patched pants. As we opened the window we could see it was Mike Baranko. Knowing that there are 50 ties in one mile of track Mike wanted to see how many miles he could travel in one day. Greece, at last! We heard loud cheering and shouting at the Colosseum. Ken Fraley was receiving an award for running the 30-mile dash in 1 minute. After a brief conversation with Ken, we traveled away on our pogo sticks. We stopped off at India and went to the Foreign Relations Building. The first thing we noticed was a dignified and serious looking young man. Much to our surprise he turned out to be Don Johnson. We asked what he was doing here and he answered, I ' m ambassador to India. After spending the night there and having had a tour by Don, we borrowed some magic carpets and flew on. We went on to Africa and floated down. There we visited Bert Pearson, King of the Pygmies. We said hello but since he was busy getting supper we went on. We arrived back in the states where we came upon Nielsenville, Kentucky. We saw Patti and Phyllis hanging out diapers. We went over to talk to them and to meet their families. Wishing them all the luck in the world, we left for Washington. There we visited the President ' s cabinet. We saw John Tofte head of the Department of Agriculture and Karen Linstedt beside him. Seeing they were in an important conference we left for Vermont. There we saw Laurel Plisky standing on a street corner playing her organ grinder while her pet monkey danced a jig. We tossed her a quarter and headed for home. On our way home, we saw a good old-fashioned American amusement, a circus. Looking closer we saw Alice Fiscus as a tight rope walker. We said Hi and seeing that Alice was in the middle of her act decided we better go on. We set our borrowed elephants toward good old J. H. S. We arrived safely and found it just as we left it. We hurried into our thunderbird buses and finally headed for home.
