Council Pres. 4 Class Officer 1 GAA 1,2, 3, 4 Chorus 1,2, 3, 4 Sextet 1,2, 3 Cheerleader 1. 2, 4 Jacksonian 4 SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY We, the class of ' 59, started our journey into the unknown lands on our solar propelled magic carpet. We were headed in the general direction of the Rocky Mts. , when we suddenly developed sun trouble. We landed on a high, cold mountain peak and proceeded to walk down into the valley. Becoming very hungry and thirsty, we looked for a place where we might obtain some victuals and quench our growing thirst. We knocked on the door of a broken down shack and waited for several minutes. Then, the door slowly creaked open, and there, to our surprise, stood Mary Lindstedt! We looked again; could this be the same Mary with whom we had gone to school at dear old J. H. S. ? She was barefoot, wearing an old dress, and was smoking a corn cob pipe. Her long straight hair was such a shock to us that we nearly fainted. Mary gave us some food and then began her story. Her former, life as a glamorous star had been so boring that she came East, to the Ozark Mountains where she lived a life of a miser. It was growing late, so we bid Mary a fond fare- well, borrowed her mules and once again we were on our merry way. This time, after a saddle sore journey, we arrived in Hollywood. Bill refused to leave until we agreed upon visiting Disneyland. Mr. Kennedy arranged for a guided tour by the head mouseketeer. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and found Berna- dine! She showed us the rides and explained how, after winning the Mouseketeer talent show in a skit about Them Bones, she worked very hard, and finally became the No. 1 mouseketeer. Her good friend Mr. Disney made us a present of some flying elephants and we headed for Alaska. There on a cold rocket base to Pluto, we found Marilyn, a tough Marine sergeant. She was barking out orders to the buck privates. When Marilyn saw us she hurried over and took us to the barracks where she told us how she saw a Marine- poster and decided to enlist. Since she had found gaining sergeant rank so easy, now she was working for a promotion to Major. We wished her luck- -but as a ’’once in a lifetime chance arose to hitch a free ride on some seals, we begged her leave, and headed for Hong Kong. There we met Madame Chin Ya Toke. While she was serving us tea and feeding us rice, her wig slipped, and sure enough, there stood Linda! While trying to teach us how to maneuver our chopsticks, she told us how she had met a handsome Chinese politician and decided — that was the life for her! She was very active and her many children kept her extremely busy. We were sorry to leave Linda but time was flying, so we bought a Sampan and took off for Australia. However, we sprang a leak and stopped off at ' Weimer Island, where, to our surprise, we found Judy. Judy told us that after her experiences in the states she had decided to start a Lonely Heart ' s Club, and had found the perfect island. Weimer Island had no people, except Judy, so business wasn ' t very good. We regretfully left Judy; and borrowing a whale, headed once again toward Australia. As we were making our way to the Plains, we saw a rather strange sight. Luckily, Ernie was up on his geography and recognized it as being a Kangaroo Catcher. Upon closer inspection, we found it to be Ruth! When we were finally able to get her attention, she professed her surprise at seeing us here and went on to tell her interesting story. In the course of her letter writing, she had found there to be a shortage of Kangaroo Catchers; this interested her, so she tried for the job and was now doing very well. After a long conversation, Mr. Kennedy called to our attention the slowly sinking sun, so once again, we departed -- this time riding our gift from Ruthie -- a Kangaroo. We rode all night, and when we awoke, we were in deep, dark Africa. As we dismounted, hundreds of natives suddenly surrounded us and took us to their tribal chief. We nervously entered the village, and when they gave us permission to life our eyes, we beheld -- Wally! After preparing us a special dinner of fried grasshopper, Wally began his tale of how he obtained the position of chief. His plane had crashed when he was on a dangerous mission. The natives rescued him and took such a liking to him that they offered him the job of being Chief. Since he didn ' t care much for Army life in the first place, he accepted their offer, and had been there ever since. He lent us a 28 ft. raft, and we paddled our way to Rio De Janeiro to see the Olympic Games. As we were docking we spotted something very similar to a sabre jet. As it came closer we suddenly realized why it looked so familiar --it was Roger! He took us to his ranch, where he told us how he had happened to be running in the Olympics. After making his fortune, he decided to find a hobby to occupy his spare time — s as he has always been interested in sports, racing seemed just the thing. Time was running short, so we left Roger and headed for Rome. We had heard rumors of there being a great baritone appearing in one of the old theaters, so we started immediately in search of him. We almost gave up hope of finding him, when, passing a Pizza shop, we heard some beautiful notes floating from within. We entered the quaint old cafe and there sat — Davy! He asked us to join him for Pizza, and then he proceeded to give us an account of his stardom. It seems that singing in chorus gave him such pleasure that he decided to try for the Met. He succeeded, and now the critics were comparing him to Caruso. David lent us some pogo sticks, and off to London we went, to see the Primo Ballerina -- Berniece. We found Berniece performing the Swan Lake Ballet. She was very pleased with h er vocation, and was extremely glad to see some folks from home. Time was again fleeting so we scurried off, and just caught the sky mobile to New York. We landed with a boom, right in the mid- dle of a big open theater, where we so learned, they were holding the Miss America Contest of ' 1999 . And who should be the chosen one? Our old friend. May Trowbridge. After the contest. May invited us to see the TV studio where she worked, modeling space gear. May gave us one of her many baby pink kidal- lacs, and we began the final leg of the journey. After much interference from outer space missiles, we arrived safely on the top of the new Jackson Twp. School -- which now had an enroll ment of two thousand. I, LINDA DUST, in my retiring state of mind, will my soprano voice to Fred Curren, and my always neat locker to Ronnie Silhavy. I, MARILYN OLSON, in my perplexed state of mind, will my careful driving to Mike Plisky, and my Johnson ' s baby bonnet to Bert Pearson. I, MAY TROWBRIDGE, in my frivolous state of mind, will my success in Business Math to Mrs. Baker ' s future students, and my brother to Susie Lesko. I, BERNADINE POTRZEBOWSKI, in my frank state of mind, will my baby blue eyes to Irene Baranko, and my illuminated radio tower to Loretta Rippe. I, RUTH CARPENTER, in my usual state of mind, will my study-hall attendance record to Mr. Kennedy ' Juniors. I, MARY LINDSTEDT, in my unpredictable state of mind, will my cheerleading ability to Diana Trow- bridge, and my once-black hair to my sister, corn-silk. I, JUDY WILLIAMS, in my gullible state of mind, will my piano playing ability to Sherry Mae, and my neighbor, Roger Berkoski, to Irene Baranko. I, BERNIECE HANSFORD, in my silly state of mind, will Jane ' s music books back to her. I, WALLY WALSWORTH, in my blank state of mind, will my ability to get along with Mr. Rollins to Robert Nielsen, and my GOOD attitude to Coach for next year ' s basketball team. I, ROGER BERKOSKI, in my rapid state of mind, will my height to Fred Curren, and my ever-handsome appearance to Stanley Potrzebowski.
