A person or corporation to whom property is legally committed in trust, to be either for benefit of specified individuals or for public uses. According to Webster's Universal Dictionary. The Trustee is, next to the Advisory Board, the lowest paid ofiicial, in the State. He is a one man Township School Board. Responsible, for the hiring of all teachers in his schools, getting your children to school on time, health of children in school, parent teacher relations, student teacher relations, and providing supplies for his school. Your Trustee is the overseer of the poor, ready to furnish food, shelter, clothing, and fuel to the needy. He is interested in the welfare of his neighbors. Trustees are responsible for harmony in their Township. He must fur- nish complete fire protection, iron out differences between groups, towns, and organizations, without showing any partiality. Your Trustee is responsible for large sums of your tax money. He must foresee the amount of money needed for a year ahead. He must keep his tax rate as low as possible yet meet many obligations. He must keep within his published budget. He must receive the greatest value possible from your tax dollars. Trustees are always open to criticism, as no one can please every one. He profits and welcomes all constructive criticism. Your questions are his, your problems are his. It has often been said, everyone should be Trustee for one term. Truer words have never been spoken. As for the present Jackson Township Trustee and Advisory Board we consider it a pleasure to have served you these three years. Our association with patrons, students, and teachers has been very pleasant, your cooperation has been beyond all expectations. We feel honored that our patrons have seen fit that we be the group to start the long needed new Consolidated School Building. We also say thanks to Dr. Herman B Wells and his mother in making the school site possible for The Granville Wells School of Jackson Township. John E. Spohr, Trustee 6

Mr. Willizini Illliiflllilll, UNSEEN HARVESTS From any educational program, the child will acquire ideas and atti- tudes about himself and others. These are woven into a pattern of life. They may be true or false, healthy or morbid. Yet, the various develop- mental stages are left largely to chance, and this is not as it should be. The learner's life in the Jackson Township Elementary School is heavily invested with success and failure, pride and shame. Thus unseen harvests rest in the pupil-teacher relationship. These feelings, judgments, praises, blames, and such are charged with great responsibility. A child's possessions are the sum total of all that he can call his. The possibilities are both constant and changeable. In the process of grow- ing up, the child adds, assimilates, and integrates within himself what he deems essential and authentic. He renounces what he feels is Uunessential, strange, and harmful. There is a continuous impact between the child and the flow of ex- periences involved in the process of living and learning at school. He per- ceives, interprets, accepts, resists, or rejects as he recognizes his limita- tions and does what he learns with his resources. The truth that heals hurts for the time. The Jackson Township Elementary School accepts and welcomes your child, allowing him to be natural and affording him opportunity to learn in an environment suited to' his maturity level. Each teacher accepts the challenge that meaningful education should be directed toward the devel- opment of the child's real or potential self into a happy and useful citizen- Ship- Kenneth Fletcher 7
