, ,i, N, v , v-T'?YW Y wr 77777172 KIVV Y g 49ers 777,11- JACKSON TOWNSHIP'S QUEEN She 'ls Miss Phyllis Johnson the 1948 Indiana Farm Bureau Queen winner of the ninth queen contest We the Senior Class of Jackson High School are pioud of Phyllis and we want her to have sneci l rccof nitlon in our annual Phyllis is eighteen yeais old she has Gray eves dark brown h'111 and IS five feet six inches tall Phylli main hobby IS reading She ad mitted that I Just read everything I can get my hands on She does hnd time though to belong to 4 H clubs Her last summer vacation of course was spent working to collect those 302 350 votes which won her the state title Not Just once but twice Phyllis vsas crowned before her reign was completed She was honored as Boone County Queen at the countys as State Queen at the Indiana State Fair on September 9 That was a big day for Phyllis Coronation ceremonles a paiade around the field on a float a iadio bioadcast and guest of honor at a luncheon and of course the usu tl iound of 1Ilt9lV16WS and pictures And what did Phyllis think of it all? She said that she knew noth ing about the contest when she became a candidate that she had a grand time v1s1t1ng the Ifarm Bureau families in Boone County As for win ning she had known it was a possibility but when she got the phone call that she was Number One she Just sat there and didnt know much about anything that was gomg on She IS the daughter of Mr and Mrs John H Johnson and has two brothers one older and one younger She is a true farmer s daughter she helped Dad put out this years corn crop and likes to drive the tractor To reward Phyllis for her wolk she was gn en a dlamond ring She IS proud of it and we are all proud of her .w . . , .
