We wish to give recognition to our school board for the work that makes our school system possible. Employing teachers, custodians, bus drivers and making up the budget for the school year are only two important tasks they per- form. Their efforts toward improvement are untiring. Though they do not oft times receive the thanks they deserve, we want them to know that we realize that they are to a great degree responsible for making our schoo1 days possible. JOHN DOYLE MARY LUCY LAUBAN DEDICATIO We, the graduating class of nineteen hundred and fifty-seven, dedicate this annual to you, Mrs. Mary Lucy Lauban and Mr. Iohn Doyle, our sponsors and friends. It is a token of our appreciation for the time and effort you have spent in making our high school days happy and rewarding ones. That is the first bell you hear ringing. Let us see what happened to us that year. For our class sponsors we had Mrs. Florence Gordon and Mr. Robert Furney. For class officers we had as follows: President, Paul Manypennyg Vice President, Diane Purdyg Secretary, Don Prestong Treasurer, Larry Lam- bertg and Student Council Representative, Jim Hash. In our Sophomore year our sponsors were Mr. John Doyle and Mr. E. P. Van Auken. The class officers were: President, Paul Manypennyg Vice President, Don Prestong Secretary, Diane Purdyg Treasurer, Nancy Urich. As in our first year we had many members of our class partici- pating in the many school activities. Now we are juniors and we find ourselves swamped with things to do. Sell magazines, pick rings, get ready for the prom and many other things that come with being a Junior. We were grateful to our sponsors Mrs. Edna Goodwin and Mr. John Doyle for the help they gave us during this year. The class officers for this year were: Presi- dent, Bill Dicksong Vice President, Larry Lambert: Secretary, Mavis Henryg Treasurer, Jim Hash. Our Senior year! It seemed like it would never get here. As in our Junior year we have had lots to do and little time to do it in. A number of our boys have participated in sports and the rest of the class has been engaged in many other activities such as cheerleading, Homecoming, May Dance, Musicals and many other activities that have occurred throughout the year. Our class sponsors are: Mrs. Mary Lucy Lauban and Mr. John Doyle. The class officers are: President, Delmer Stanleyg Vice President, Jim Hash: Secretary, Margaret Har- deng and Treasurer, Kenneth Miller. SE IOR CLASS PROPHECY TIME: 1967 Place: ENID, OKLAHOMA Our graduating class of 1957 is now scattered throughout the world. On this beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon let 's set out to visit our classmates. Means of travel have moder- nized greatly since we graduated ten years ago. The latest development in air travel is the magnificent enclosed magic carpet, created and designed by Bill Lehotsky. Upon entering this luxurious invention, we see that Larry Lambert will be our pilot and George Yuhas, co-pilot. - Our first stop will be in New Orleans on Basin Street where we find the famous Don Preston playing the blues on his saxophone. Here we get out and walk down to the wa- terfront. There is a large ocean-liner docking and the captain is none other than Bob Pittman. His private stewardess, Thelma Richey, is with him. We 're off again and as we drive along, we pass Wilbur King's goat farm. With a herd of 500 goats his much- needed assistant, Bemard Lewis, comes from the field to greet us. The next place we stop is a large Navy air base, where we find David Stearns and Mike Daringer among a number of men out on manuevers. We go over to the air field and see a t0p-tate air pilot, Paul Manypenny, landing his B-29. As we pass headquarters Joe Clay, the com- manding officer, comes over to meet us. He tells us that another of our classmates, Helen Allen, is his private secretary and that Nelson Begeot has worked his way up to Admiral of the Navy. Well, we must be on our way and we're heading for the west coast. As we enter Hollywood limits, an exclusive beauty salon catches our eye. It is owned and operated by Florita Shaffer, A large number of sophisticates patronize her salon. As we proceed on, we come to the intersection of Hollywood and Vine, a soldier and WAC are waiting for the light. When we approach, we find 'they are Major Norman Hunt and Lieutenant Anna Mae Hood. While we are this near we must go and visit Disneyland. There we find one of Walt Disney 's top artists, Jim Sullivan. On our visit to Wyoming we discover that Allen Blazek is caretaker of Yellowstone National Park. Drifting on to Chicago, we pass the world's largest restaurant, Jim 's Stork Club, built and designed by Jim Hash. His world famous chef is Ronald Chick. 'Margie Harden 's Charm School is next to Iim's Restaurant. Her personal hair stylist is Ioan Gura. Our destination now is New York. Passing La Guardia Airport, we see Brad Smith getting ready to fly his jet cross-country. A short ride down Fifth Avenue takes us to Sak's, New York 's famous department SIOIC, where Nancy Urich is an exclusive buyer. While we 're here, we 'll look up Geri Keck who is la WAVE, working at the Naval Recruit ing Office. As we leave New York, we recognize Bill 's Pool Room owned by Bill Dickson. Parked outside is a new Jaguar, which belongs to Delmar Stanley, the sports editor of the New York Times. Flying homeward we stop at the now famous summer resort, Lake Milton. The new spectacular, Purdy's Lakeside Hospital has just been completed with Diane Purdy as the founder. The head nurse is Mavis Henry with Janet Manypenny as a laboratory techni- cian. Also at the hospital we see a new intern, Olin Harkleroad. Now to our Alma Mater, Jackson-Milton. In the hall we see Hazel Rhodes going to her Senior English Class. Emmett Bolyard is conducting a shop class. Let's walk down to the center and see Kenny Miller, Executive of the Mahoning National Bank. Paul Smith, his lawyer, is there visiting his client. At Pearl City, Ronald Walton is Vice President of the branch office of the Republic Steel Mills. Bill Krimmer is top electrician. The class of 57 has been very successful. We leave by way of the magic carpet. Many thanks for your carpet, Bill! X5 fig: W 5? i Z.. 4, K -wg kia f1,,.a.w A -A 1-. wiv mix . . -' if, A . The Jackson-Milton Athletic Booster Club was formed in September of 1956. Its purposes are to aid in the formation of inter-scholastic athletics in this high school, to maintain good-will between the com- munity and the school, and to foster friendly relations between the school and its athletic opponents. There are approximately fifty active members at present. During the school year the group has promoted the sale of season athletic tickets, furnished bus transportation for students to all out of town athletic contests, treated the football squad to a Cleveland Brown's game and dinner, and as its most important contribution, the sponsor- ship of the annual A11-Sports Banquet for all boys and girls in the school who have participated in athletics during this year. 'I'he club has several ambitious projects in mind for the future and invites the membership and help of all in our community who are in- terested in its objectives. aw.. we W is Sffw S5555 H M S agfwiw, 5 5425 J. za' I, A J. XM si LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP CHARACTER SERVICE 'I'he Jackson-Milton Chapter of the National Honor Society was organized and chartered on April 20, 1950, with its aim to honor worthy students of the senior and junior classes. Each January the members of these two classes who have acumulative average of ninety per cent, beginning with the first semester of the ninth grade through the first semester of the junior or senior year, have their names submitted to the faculty for membership. On the basis of character, leadership, and service, they are then voted upon by the faculty. An induction ceremony, attended by parents, the student body, and visiting N.S. H. chapters, takes place in February. Superintendent John E. Rayburn has shown great interest in chapter activities. The chapter is sponsored by Juanita B. Siesholts.
