September I6, I987 marked a ioyous day in American history- the 200th birthday of the Constitution of the United States. Jackson High School celebrated in a special way. Jackson spirit shone bright as the hallways of both buildings glimmered of red. white and blue- teachers and students alike. A poster contest was sponsored by the Social Studies department, and many students participated. Taking the top prize, a SIOO savings bond, was senior Sharon Salerno. Also placing were seniors Jen Leahy and Cindy DeVitis, In celebration of this momentous day. a special assembly for the entire school was held on the football field. The festivities included guest speakers, birthday cake and presenta- tions to the winners of the poster contest. Also, everyone was given the chance to sign the Constitution. I. Christine Phillips all decked out with spirit. 7. Chorus members Sue Greene, Wayne Wood, Will Miedel, Alan Johnson and Ken- neth Kizzee . . . 8. With band accompaniment by Bob Price, Dave Osis, John Salvemini, Chris Radd, Mike Platt and John Dingle. 9. Now that's spirit!
