Once again it becomes my privilege to make suitable comment and offer congratulations to the graduating class for your achievements in school. It is my hope that the majority of you have learned to go about your daily living With what may be called the Scientific Attitude: You have an inquiring turn of mind. You hold your conclusions subject to revision in the light of new evidence. You are tolerant towards new ideas and suggestions. You are slow to accept as tact statements that are not supported by evidence. You appreciate the value of applying these principles in living. Good luck and success is my wish for every member of the Class of '49.
