SENIUB PLllY . . . lVlurlleretl lllive Wealthy Marvin Ryder had been killed in a motor accident. His lawyer wired all the heirs to come to Hillcrest, the country estate of the deceased. The will mentions most of the rela- tives who come off handsomely, and just as they are congratulating each other on their good fortune the lawyer reads two codicils attached to the will. Marvin Ryder states that he knows positively that he is going to be murdered. So he sets aside Sl0,00D for the expense of appre- hending his murderer and the same sum for the person or persons who capture the criminal! Things begin to happen. Strange weird occur- rences that cannot be explained. In the midst of this tension Acton Chance, a detective who has taken a correspondence course, arrives and tries to find the murderer. His attempts at solving the crime lead from one ludicrous situation to another until the climax is reached when he is STUDENT CUUNEIL P found bound and gagged in the barn. Another strange coincidence is that there are at least a dozen clocks in the house that continue to keep time and strike the hour regularly, though no- body has wound them in days. Upon open- ing the suitcase Marshall and Trudy discover that it contains twenty-five thousand dollars in cash! A few minutes later, Car- men Miller, a young newspaper woman,-rushes in and tells the Kellys that the home they just moved out of has caught fire and burned to the ground. Trudy is beside herself with joy. More , than ever she believes in her dreams. When Marshall is on the verge of entering into a new business partnership which he believes is the opportunity of a lifetime, Trudy steps in and throws the monkey wrench into the proposed partnership and her husband is filled with dis- may. That night Trudy has a dream that is so real that she spread the news that great happiness in the form of a large sum of money is coming to them in their new home. The following afternoon the doorbell rings and when she Young Marshall Kelly and his irrepressible wife, Trudy, might be any of your neighbors. Trudy believes in dreams and in her ability to interpret each and every dream she has. There is a great hustle and bustle inside the ranch house in preparation for the expected visit ot Mrs. lone Fletcher, a widow, who was the lite-long friend ot lude's late wife. Mrs. Fletcher is coming all the way from New England to visit with lude and Betty Ann and then she hopes to go to New Mexico where her nephew, Dwight Fletcher, a young artist, is residing. ln addition to Mrs. Fletcher they are also expecting a new hired hand at the Melton ranch. While lude goes -i the ranch, Dwight Fletcher arrives, having de- cided to pay his aunt a surprise visit. Betty Ann mistakes Dwight tor the new hired hand and insists that he go out to milk the cows! Dwight falls in love with Betty Ann, but her father has already promised that his daughter will marry Lige Beatson, son oi Widder Beatson. Her ad- miring maid, Poppy, felt the same way and poor Alec, the gardener, was in despair over Poppy's sudden coldness. Then the author ot the roman- tic book appeared. Shes a maiden lady with a kind heart and she set about repairing the dam- age her book had done. Under her direction, Tom and Alec soon spouted romantic speeches and make a hit with the girls. Two tluttery spin- sters from the neighborhood keep a thrilled eye on the romantic goings-on, and even Rosemary's bachelor uncle begins to notice the good quali- ties ot the author he is entertaining,
