The familiar sign of Brooks Funeral Home on Union Street now reads: Subler Mortuary, Richard Subler, Mortician. Beneath the sign are the intimately-known words: The friendly undertaker. Jane Teegarden, a tight-rope walker, is professionly known as Gertie, the Wonder Woman g her lastest stunt is a senational, hair-raising ride across Niagara Falls on a bicycle. Since Clark Gable has retired to devote his time to his 15th wife, Lowell Threewits is currently reigning as The King of the Movies. Ah! Val- entino, old boy. Geraldine Threewits, nee Lenker, is a famous Hollywood designer. Her job keeps her quite occupied, but her biggest task is keeping the bobby- soxers away from her husband. Mark has some competition in the field of politics as Sue Warner is the governor of Ohio. She is t-he first woman to accomplish this feat. Marie Whiteman now, like a number of her classmates, has given up her career to marry: she was chief operator at a New York telephone office, but it is rumored that she will retire to wed the wealthy owner of the St. Joseph Aspirin Company Texas millionaire oilman, Ronald Just call me gusher Whitesell has just announced that he will purchase the King Ranch for the-unheard-of price of 25,000,000 Texas smackers. Wow! That's a lot of greenbacks even for a Texan. All America is raving about Norman Williamson of Metropolian Opera fame: his lastest performance in Madame Butterfly was positively soul-shattering. Petite Joan Stammen, the new Marilyn Monroe, is the favorite pin-up girl of the American GI's. Photogenic Joan is currently starring in The Bashful Burnette from Hunchberger's Corner. Dorothy Coblentz and Sylvia Rhoades operate a tourist ranch in Arizona, but only male tourists are admitted, this is due to the fact that they are still old maids.
