Class Prophecy On a warm summer evening in the year 1971, two matrons, once known as Barbara Edwards and Jeanette Weiss, were reminiscing on Barbara's and Duane's front porch. And as the conversation casually drifted to their gradu- ating class at Jackson in 1951, this is what they found had happened to their classmates during the past twenty years: Delores Armstrong has fulfilled her life long ambition by becoming the best saleslady of the Fuller Brush Company of New York City. She has been doing this for a long time, for she applied for the job during our class trip way back in '51. We find that Joe Barnum is the new owner of the famous Red 73 of Union City. It is evident that he keeps his wife well supplied with that good Red 73 Milk, for she dantily tips the scales at 250'. Quite a surprise is Phillip Detamore coaching the Jackson Redskins to easy victories in the state championship finals. (Mr. Roush is now man- ufacturing college lettermen in mass production). Until Duane finished his term in the Army, Barbara Edwards held a secret military position with his division. But they finally decided army life was not for them. Now they have a small army of their own. (We always knew Barbara was a patriotic girl'.) After all these years, it took little ole' Verda Mae Hurley to break history's tradition by becoming the first woman president of the United States. She doesn't have much trouble controlling Congress, we are told. Gertrude Howell has really been hitting the ropes these days with her wrestling championship title at stake. She says wrestling has its ups and downs. After watching her on television, we whole-heartedly agree with her. The old saying, something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, seems to have gone over pretty well with Marilyn and Marion, for they now are Mr. and Mrs. Wogomon-------and family1. By name, Melinda, Mike, Margie, and Mickey. (Not to mention a couple of motor- cycles). Now at last we find that all we have to do is turn a little knob to hear Dick Jordan's familiar voice saying, Now Duz even washes your lingerie'. . Yes, he has taken over the radio commercials on WLW. And remember that little knob? It's so convenient to turn him off'. 16
