The etamorphols of the Senior Class We are a changlng group m a changxng world In the fall of 1951 approxxrnately three fourths of the 115 members of the Fresh man Class came to Jackson from surroundmg school d1str1cts We became a un1ted group ever when a meetmg for class organ1zat1on was held Norma Wessel was chosen preszdent and she wxth the help of Bonn1e Grosshe1der Earlene Mc Spadden Kay Kerstner and John Rxtter as assrstmg class off1cers held our class together They served as our leaders when class act1v1t1es were requlred By popular vote Mary Flannagm and Paul Wessel were chosen as our representatwes on the Student Councll We presented the play Twrxteen and provlded the mus1c for the Chrlstmas Assembly We broke out of our Cocoon Ln the sprmg of 1952 and returned m the fall a group of book worms that not only devoured all the subject matter that was placed before us but dr1ven by hunger reached out to master other act1v1t1es B111 Statler Norma Freese Arthur Edwards and Barbara L1tzelfe1ner served as class off1cers Patsy Rxehn and John Rltter represented the class on the Student Councll We presented the play Forever Albert and gave a St Patr1ck s Day assembly program Gary McDowell was chosen to represent our class on the Sophomore Prlgrxmage We spent our dormant stage U1 the sunamer of 1953 When we returned to J H S we found that we were Jun1ors Ben Cooper Lloyd Masterson Clayton Tuschoff and Bonn1e Grossherder were elected class offxcers Gwyn Mowery John Lorberg and Allen Boren were made members of the Student Councll Our Junror play was My Llttle Marg1e and for our class assembly we presented Mr F1X1t One of the b1g respons1b1l1t1es of our Junlor year was the Jun1or Senlor banquet and prom Usmg an or1ental theme we transformed the gymnasmm mto a lovely or1en tal garden and made th1s affa1r one of the year s outstandmg events Before our Junxor year drew to 1ts close we selected offxcers and representatwes for our 1954 55 class John Lorberg Bonn1e Grosshelder Ruth Morton Patsy Rlehn and Don Ludwrg were chosen class off1cers Allen Boren Margaret Jo Fe1 gert and Norma Wessel were selected to represent our class on the Student Counc 11 Nrnety e1ght of the one hundred frfteen members of the Freshman Class became Sen1ors Fourteen others Jomed us and our class enrollment was one hundred eleven Many of our class have part1c xpated rn extracurncular aCt1V1t1CS Our Senror play and assembly presentatwn were m keepmg wlth our past achlevements Durmg our hlgh school years we saw many changes The school fac1l1t1es were enlarged and 1mproved non segregatlon was accompllshed the Jackson School D1str1ct ltself was changed We became D1StI1Ct R Z wh1ch when organlzed was the largest school d1str1ct m MISSOUTI We ourselves changed We changed from Freshmen to Sophomores from Sophomores to Jun1ors and from Junlors to Sen1ors We thought together played together and the bond of fr1endsh1p between us as mem bers of the graduating class of 1955 grew ever closer As we look back on these busy years we can really feel that It was a job well done I A Ac ' ' ' vi . . 3 ,A ' 9 - -. , , - n v 1 1 , . r - as - so - ' 4 . i D 0 2 n 1 v . ll li ' I . . . . . . . o 1 1 1 o 9 0 . ll ' ' li ll ' ' D7 1 . . . n ' . . , . . , . .
