The propos1t1on carrxed 790 for to 499 agamst At the regular school electron mn Aprxl the followmg dlrectors were elected Mr Glenn Mr Paul A Mueller Jr Reorgaxuzed School D1str1ct R Z was composed of nmeteen school dxstrzcts, namely 1-hgh H111 Sheppard, Schoenebeck Chppard Roberts McFerron, Randol Cane Creek, Stroder, Gravel H111 Burfordv1lle, Sandy Rldge Poplar Grove T1.ls1t, Helderman, Poplar Ridge Fruxtland Pocahontas, and Jackson School was conducted In all these dzstrxcts except Mel-'erron Randol, Sandy Rxdge, and Pop lar Grove, who transported thenr students to Jackson Elementary School and Helderman who transported the1r students to Burfordvxlle In settmg up a plan of operatxon for the school year 1954 55 the Board of Educatlon set up nme attendance centers at Neelys Landmg Pocahontas Fruxtland Jackson, Burfordvxlle and what was formerly the Roberts School the Cane Creek School, the T1ls1t School and Poplar Rzdge School By reducmg the number of attendance centers, lt was poss1ble to provnde specxal servzces such as a muslc teacher, guldance person school nurse remed1al reading teacher and art supervtsor These servxces are spread too thinly to derlve the maxxmum benef1t and as the attendance centers become fewer m number, benefxts from them can be mcreased School Dmstrxct R Z has an area of approxlmately 400 square m11es and at the txme of re organxzatxon, was sa1d to be the largest school dzstrmct mn the state Last sprxng, lt enumerated 1 838 pupxls The present enrollment m hxgh school grades nxne through twelve IS 470 The elementary schools grades one through exght have 962 enrolled, w1th 62 enrolled zn kmder garten The school d1str1ct owns 17 buses, operates 16 They load and unload between 900 and 1 000 boys and gzrls twice datly The faculty 15 composed of 61 members The Janxtorlal staff IS composed of flve full t1me and suc part tlme employees Ten full txme lunchroom workers are employed Their efforts are supplemented by sixteen part time employees Three full t1me and four part txme secre tarles are employed The part tune employees are all school students ,N . 1 sf fr 1 I I 1 Whitledge, Mr. Kurre Allen, Mr. Wm.
