E EE E S E E ER E E Q N B .3 Because of the war situation, several boys of Jack- son High School have been forced to discontinue their school work, while a number of others will enter the Armed Forces soon after graduation. In November the Navy V-5 examinations were given in Jackson High School. Twelve Seniors took this ex- amination. Eleven of the twelve passed and were sent to St. Louis for a physical checkup and also further ex- aminations. Richard Cotner, Elwood Hitt, Bob Mecklin, and Buster Meehan passed all the examinations, were sworn in and ordered to report the first of July. In January tive boys tried to get into the radar pro- gram but all failed to pass the necessary examinations. On March 15 the Army and Navy V-12 examinations were given in Jackson High School. Eleven Seniors took the tests and all chose the Navy but as yet no results have been heard. Linus Grader was inducted into the Army in Novem- ber and at present he is stationed at Camp Wolters, Tex. Robert Bryce Goodwin was inducted into the Army Air Forces on February 21, At present he is stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, Willie Chapman, Johnny Gockel, Bob Henderson, and Bryce March have been sworn into the Navy and are subject to call at the close of school. NVe are proud of the fact that Jackson High School is so well represented in Uncle Sa1n's Fighting Forces.
