To open to the students the door that leads to this literature and to teach the gram- matical construction is the purpose of the English teacher. During a student's first two years at Jackson, literature and grammar are equally divided. Junior English consists mostly of American literature and neces- sary grammar. For those who wish to study more in English they may study Eng- lish literature during their senior year. MRS. D‘ORSAY W.
