Superintendent C. W. Tallman Mr. C. W. Tallman, who this year became the new superintendent of the Jackson school district, is well-rounded in his accomplishments—educational as well as many other areas. After his graduation from Capital University in 1954, where he obtained a history major and minors in biology and physical education, Mr. Tallman began his teaching career at Grove City High School, southwest of Columbus. Then joining the army for two years, Mr. Tallman served as an administrative specialist in Alaska, also finding time to attend the University of Alaska. Returning to Grove City High School, our new superintendent again assumed his role as a teacher. In 1960 he became assistant principal and advisor to student activities, and eventually rose to the position of superintendent. Also during this time, Mr. Tallman acquired his Master’s Degree in school administration and political science from Ohio State University. Last summer he studied at Bowling Green, adding personnel administration and a seminar in public relations to his education. Mr. Tallman is presently working for his Doctor’s Degree at the University of Toledo. Athletic feats are also among Mr. Tallman’s accomplishments, participating in football, basketball, and track in high school and basketball, and track in college. He set records in the 440 yard dash at Capital and in the Springfield relays. Mr. Tallman is active in local, state and national educational organizations. He served as one of the educational consultants at the recent American Medical Association Conve ntion, is active in the Lions and International church organizations, and is listed in “Who's Who in American Education.”
