This aerial view is evidence of the many changes that have taken place at Jackson during the past quarter of a century. FOREWORD In 1939 the parent edition of the SCOOP was published. Now, a quarter of a century later, the newest member of the annual family has been edited. Although this yearbook is presented in a new format, it will, however, have for many persons the characteristics of an old friend. For the past twenty-five years each successive pub- lication has pictorially recorded the events of that year. In general, this book is arranged to stress greater emphasis on the current year, however, the inclusion of material from the past two and one-half decades plays a major role. Throughout these pages we hope to restore to many hearts and minds a few memorable experiences at Jackson High. At the same time we strive to impress upon the student of today that these high school years are his threshold years, and after having played an influential part in directing the course of his life, will, in time, be among his moments to remember. With this in mind, the annual staff presents for your view- ing the twenty-fifth edition of the yearbook, SCOOP. Jackson students' home away from home. 2
