SEASON'S RECORD They jackson They Iurlexon They Iackxon Greensburg 0 6 Canton Twp. 0 12 Middlebranch 26 6 Navarre I3 0 Canal Fulton' 0 ' 12 East Canton 0 19 Brewster 14 12 Greentown 0 13 North Canton 13 0 FOOTBALL SEASON On September 20, we opened the 1941 football season. In the initial game a strong defense plus some good passing netted jackson a 6-0 victory over Greensburg. The next Friday we lost our first league game to a powerful Navarre team 13-0. Again we suffered the taste of defeat after the Polar Bears dropped a heart-breaker to Brewster 14-12. .Iackson's second triumph of the season came after scoring an upset over Canton Twp. 12-0. Tallying on two passes jackson captured another victory by defeating Canal Fulton 12-0. For seven long years, jackson grid fans have waited for a victory of these age-old rivals, Canal Fulton. For the third week in a row Jackson tasted the fruits of victory. This time the victims were Greentown by a score of 13-0. The highlight of this game was the spectacular 105 yard run by Steve Kraus for one of the touchdowns. jackson's victory string at 5 was snapped by a highly spirited and powerful Middlebranch team 26-6. Once again we returned to Winning ways by downing a fighting East Canton 19-0. Steve Kraus had a field day scoring all three touchdowns. On Nov. 15 jackson played one of the best games of the season but North Canton succeeded in winning 13-0. Thus, as you see, jackson had a very successful season under its new coach, Mr. Richards. Best Wishes from The Brown Lumber Co. 0 405 S. Erie St., Massillon, Obio 41 l HENRY NEIDERT-Another senior who has played his last game for Jackson. Henry played on the line and in the backfield equally well and will be a hard man to replace next year. Concn RAYMOND Ric:-:Aims an DICK CHANTLER- -- Sharon's gift to Jackson. A first year man who proved himself of var- sity caliber. He played a tough game at end and netted several long gains through passes. STEVE KRAUS-Steve, with a natural ath- letic ability, developed into one of the fastest, hardest running backs. A triple- threat man, he furnished the top run of the season with a 102 yard touchdown dash at Greentown. DALE SMITH - A sophomore with a great deal of promise. His size, weight, and aggressive- ness were prime factors in mak- ing him a dangerous lineman. EUGENE Donos--After being shifted several times, Dobos was finally placed at guard. From this spot in the line, he played a tough, heads-up game. FRED FLICKXNGER - If there were a most improved player award given at jackson, we feel sure that Fred would be the most likely candidate, for after playing only a few minutes in the 1940 season, he stepped into the line-up this year and played an outstanding game at center. An elusive and tricky back, he netted several large gains for this year's team. HERBERT BRESSLER - Being the heaviest man on the team, Herb obviously was a constant threat to the opposition. He played practically every minute of ev- ery game and was outstanding among the linemen. Bon FASNACHT- Another first year man who came through with flying colors. Bob played a smart, hard-charging game and was a constant threat to the opposition. his pass-catching ability.
