STLDENT COLNCIL SEATED L to R B Smith C Niallow J Scheiffler J Stewart STANDING D Dickinson M OSullivan D Clay T Limmer L Hines Mr Dressel As outstanding students and leaders are elected from each home room to the Student Representative Assembly, so are the leaders from the Student Reps elected to serxe on the Student Counell Two Sophomores, two Juniors, and one Senior mal-.e up the Coun cil Presiding oxer it are the President and Vice President of the Student Body Each member of Student Council is a chairman of the lVays and Nieans, Buildings and Grounds, Inter-School Relations, Social Service, Social, or Spec1al Committee, and one member is elected from the Council to act as secretary for the semester The Student Council is responsible for electing the members of the Hostess Com mittee from a list which is submitted by the home room teachers Sponsoring school parties and pep assemblies are two of the many projects which are ably handled by Student Council and Student Government.

Student Government has organized and developed the Hostess Committee, a group of about forty girls from all the grades, who may be called l'AiC'1 at any time to usher, serve dinners, set up for dinners, help with .7 HOSTESS COMMITTEE, JUNIORS: FIRST ROV! Bissell, WV. Hopson, J. Broshares, S. Dowsett C. Cole. eye testing, and almost any project that calls for a group of willing and attractive girls. The Hostesses have worked out so very well here at Jackson High that the idea has been copied by Ann Arbor and other high schools. SPORTS COMMITTEE FIRST ROIV I. to R: D. Clay, E. Shahan, J. Scltiefller, Mr. Kiesel, S. Hamlin. SECOND ROW: C. A. Smith, B. Campbell, R. Jolmson, N. Otto, A. Robertson, P. Hlilliams, T. P. Blake, Crimes. The newly-formed Sports Committee is made up of the nine captains of the nine sports, the President of G.A.A., and the two captains of the cheerleading squad. The 24 purpose of the organization is to promote good sportsmanship in the spectators as well as in the athletes. Such things as a seating chart for the winter-sports assembly, transportation to away games, and arrang- ing trophy cases come under the jurisdiction of the Sports Committee, which is advised by Mr. Kiesel.
