'7a1ffze Jaffa For many years Jackson High School has enjoyed its position as a leader among high schools in the state and in the nation. Much could be said for the Fine guidance and inspiration which has tradi- tionally been a characteristic of the administrators and the teachers, but our prestige could not have been attained and maintained with- out that continuous stream of individuals which constitutes the Student Body. The Student Body is a community which exists indefinitely as individuals join it and leave it. Each person in this unending flow of students has contributed to and absorbed from the association known as the Student Body. It is to this ever- changing community, to those who have gone before us, those presently comprising Jackson High School, and those who in the years to come will carry on the high standards of achievement we proudly uphold, that this Yearbook for nineteen hundred and fifty six is dedicated.

.ofooo The tower entrance and the Viking are symbols of Jackson High School. The tower entrance represents strength and quality in the structure of the school. Those who reinforce this strength and support this quality are the faculty. The Viking represents the spirit and pride of Jackson High stu- dents. Years ago the Viking sailed from his own country to seek new horizons and a higher goal.
