FIELD HOCKEY VVhen the leaves begin to turn and the school bells begin to ring, everyone knows it is time for that grand sport- Field Hockey. Each girl gets herself a hockey stick and shin guards and races to the field to help her team win. ln the past years the girls have gone to Ella Sharp Park, but because oi the gasoline rationing they played on the field in back of the school. Any girl who comes out for hockey will enioy the time spent playing the game. nl' BASKETBALL lsn't it exciting to watch a good basketball game played by the boys? Sure it is! Basketball can be played by the girls as well as by the boys, and, while watching the game is exciting, it's fun playing the game, too. li you think you would like this sport, and we know you will, next year you'll come out and be in our group. This year, Pan-American Day was commemorated by a play depicting the adventures oi an average American group, the lones family, in a typical Mexican market. Wandering musicians, dancers, gaily dressed bird men, balloon salesmen and pottery venders, all added color and dash to the performance. lt is expected that the series will be continued next year. The man is pestered with all sorts of girls that can't seem to meet his requirements. He declares that what he wants is a homely woman that can type, take shorthand, spell, etc. At last, his prayers seem to be answered, for that homely girl appears and he hires her. But on her second appearance she has taken oti her disguise and is as beautiful as the rest of them! The curtain falls as his newly hired secretary and Mr. Watson step out for dinner together. f RIGHT ABOUT FACE Right About Face is a one-act comedy illus- trating life two thousand years in the future, W'omen rule the world in business and at home, while men are mere weaklings, taking the womens position in the home. The oldest son craves Ior a musical career but being a male, it is believed a disgrace for him tc go to the city. Father and son stick together and the play comes to a climax as the son runs away from home to make his own in the world. Page 79 H. Wilkinson, D. r, B.
