The Tri-Hi-Y and Hi-Y clubs are under the affiliation of the National Young Men's Christian Organization. The purpose of the groups is to create, maintain, and extend to the school, home, and community, high standards of Christian character. Paul Sites and Lynn Shumate are the adult faculty advisors of the two groups. Some major events of the two groups are the symbolic induction ceremony, sponsoring the Sadie Hawkins Dance, selling flowers for Valentine s Day, running the concession stand at football games, and attendance in the Youth-in-Government program at the State House in Columbus. aii » Future Teachers Look Ahea Future Teachers of America is an organization dedicated to fully discovering the and rewards of teaching. The group meets on the Hist Wednesday of each month at Kinnison school with their advisor Mrs. Kathryn Loxley. The only requirement to becoming a member | serious interest in teaching and attendance at the insightful meetings. The group had an annual Christmas party; a picnic at the Shire; did readings with Mrs. fourth spaders; participated in outdoor education programs with elementary students; and helped at the Jackson City Schools Kindergarten Screening Program. The group members active during Fight to Head Week. This year's officers were Peggy Casey. Kim Childers, Una Fee, Anita Marcum and Van Swartz. 19
