Giving Star Performances Sophomore Tara Doughty readies herself to begin a JV match. Senior Stephanie Smith makes last minute checks before a Varsity game. ------------------------------------------- Stick. Honored at the awards banquet were Beth Osthoff (all District and all SEOAL), Beth Zachariah (all SEOAL), Stephanie Smith (all District and all SEOAL), and Teresa Edgington, Senior. The leading ladies were: Varsity: Beth Zachariah, Stephanie Smith, Teresa Edgington, Beth Osthoff, Yvonne Fenik, Nikki Jerzak, Jennifer Lahman, Carlene Rapp, Beilina Cooper, Mindy Dalton, Christy Miller JV: Tara Doughty, Bobbie Sparks, Lora Spencer, Beth Spradlin, Gidget Humphreys, Trisha Hammond, Traci Poling Encore! Once again the JV and Varsity Volleyball teams made the record books. It is said that “Hard work pays off”, and in their case, there’s no doubt. Coaches Chuck Dorsey and Paula Erwin worked their teams hard, but no complaints have been heard. Talent was nurtured and knowledge of the game expanded. The JHS Volleyball teams know their games. The JV ended the season tied as SEOAL champions with Logan. They sported a 12-3 record overall. With a 23-4 record, the Varsity Volleyball squad again came away with the SEOAL championship, title of district runners-up, and JHS’s own Spirit Act I Volleyball

Learning Their Parts ----------------------------------------------------- Putting It Together “The girls had fun. ” remarked Coach Heidi Kisor. But that was only half of the story. Not only did the Junior High Volleyball Squads have fun, they also came away with two winning records of 7-2 and 7-2. The young teams bought their own trophies and there was no banquet; but the Boosters sponsored a pizza party for them at the end of their season. Members were: (7th) Jennifer Jerzyk, Jodi Brown, Julie Miller, Stacey Dalton, Tracey Dalton, Kim Hughes, Terri Spradlin, Amanda Zito, Misty Smith; (8th) Kim Dameron, Erica Yates, Lisa Gould, Natasha Sommer, Tonya St umbo, Danae Straten, Angie Corn, Shannon Sollars, and Kellina Cooper.
