Making A Scene Craig Ragland and June Vermilion win a tack race for the Senior class. The Senior and Sophomore classes fight it out in a spirit contest. r Gimme A J” The spirit of the ’86- ’87 student body rivaled that of any other in the past. Throughout a somewhat discouraging sports season, the upper and lower classmen remained pepped up and filled with school spirit. A new form of school support was initiated this year. A spirit week was established that included a JAMS day, 50’s day, Pee-Wee Herman day, a Country Western day, and Red A White day. A vast majority of the students and teachers participated and it succeeded in increasing school spirit to the limit. We also had more assemblies than in past years. At these assemblies, held in the gym, there were spirit contests that included class “yells , several games in which classes competed against each other, and JHS’s own version of the wave. Also, the Glee Club and Pep Bands furnished some new and popular music as entertainment. Besides the pep assemblies and spirit week, every Friday through football season was declared red and white day. The spirit season of the fall of ’86 will not easily be forgotten. Overture Spirit
