Ironmen Spirit: An Ongoing T radition Webster defines SPIRIT as a force within a man held to endow his body with life, energy, and power. This definition can be summed up in two words: Iron-man Fan. One fan of the Ironmen in particular was known to bring the crowd members to their feet many times. It wasn't unusual to hear the Ironmen fans chanting Ted ... Ted ... Ted ... They were referring to student Ted Sweeney. It was never known at what time he was going to appear, what inspiring speech he had to give, or even what he was going to wear for the boosting of the Ironmen SPIRIT. He couldn't have done it, however, without the help of the cheerleaders, band members, and of course the FANS themselves. Many loyal Ironmen Fans sat through discouraging losses, rain, snow, and bitter coldness to help support the teams. These people helped to continue one unchanging tradition of Jack-son High School!
