Freshman Cheerleaders . . . Add Spirit And Style The ninth grade cheerleading squad (Martha Woodard. Claudia Gillespie. Cindy Wiseman. Lanme Romeo. Shannon Smith, and Jackie Tanner) started the '83-84 season early by attending cheerleading camp at Rio Grande College during the summer The girls had bake sales, yard sales and a raffle in order to earn the money for camp The squad built a float for the Apple Festival in September, cheered at ninth grade football games through most of November and then went directly into basketball season. Jr. High Cheerleaders 7th And 8th Together With Spirit Long, hard practice sessions led to a more experienced Jr. High Cheerleading squad. During the month of June, the Cheerleaders attended camp at Rio Grande. They were exposed to new chants, cheers, and routines The cheerleaders all agreed that leading the crowd into a spirited uproar made it all worthwhile 28 Jr High Cheerleaders

Senior Band Marches South The 1983-84 Marching Ironmen consisted of slightly over 100 members including wind, brass, and percussion players, flag corps members, and majorettes. The Ironmen attended two band competitions, one receiving 1st place and a beautiful large trophy and 3rd place at another. The band held many fund raisers including candy and magazine sales. This money was used toward a trip to Florida in June for six days.
